Criteria

●  You must be over 16 years old.

●  You are required to complete the JCCT babysitting Application Form.

●  You must provide 3 references.

●  You must return the completed application form in person, when you will be required to complete      a police check form.  Please bring with you one photo ID (eg passport or driving licence) and one      separate ID showing current residential address.

Applications will be successful when your 3 references have been received and the police check is returned clear.  (Please note that police checks can take up to 8 weeks). If applicants have not been resident in Jersey for over 2 years, a police check from their previous country of residence must be provided and translated into English if appropriate.

Training

There are no training requirements although the JCCT does provide Continuous Professional Development courses in Childcare and there are some courses that may be appropriate for babysitters.  The Jersey Child Care Trust are looking into an approved babysitting course.
