Parents’ Top Tips

Please note: these are opinions from parents and are not those of the Trust.

  • Make sure they have sufficient resources, particularly whether they offer outside space.
  • Check they offer a range of regular activities.

Statutory Requirements

  • All staff are required to have: a satisfactory ‘fit person’ check (includes DBS and Health check), First Aid qualification, Safeguarding and Infection control.
  • A minimum of 75% of the staff have a playwork and or childcare qualification.
  • All playcare centres are registered annually by Childcare Registration in the Education Department. Top tip: check when they last re-registered and if it was more than 12 months ago ask why.
